Reviews - just my opinion

Hello Love - Chris Tomlin
I picked up this CD last week and I absolutely love it. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes worship music and especially those who like Chris Tomlin worship music - some really good stuff here.

Bottom line: Super!

Ruthless Trust - Brennan Manning
I finished this book a couple of weeks ago. Although there were some really good points and some quotable quotes, this one didn't ever really grab my full attention. For me, the language style was of a higher level than I needed and I found myself having to try to figure out what the words in the sentence meant before I could understand what the point was.

Bottom line: Not my favorite, but I did make it through it.

If you want to walk on water, you have to get out of the boat - John Ortberg
I am almost finished with this one - this one is right up my alley. Some good, challenging stuff in here regarding stepping out in faith. Ortberg has an easy reading style full of stories and illustrations. He also has a way of threading a theme through a chapter to keep the point fresh in my mind - it just works for me.

Bottom line: I recommend this one, too.

  1. I've heard about the Chris Tomlin CD, but haven't heard it yet! Good stuff, huh?

I know you awarded me last week and I am desperately trying to catch up. My blogging time has diminished because I started language study (good thing!). Just wanted to let you know in case my pass-on-the-award takes awhile!

  2. Hey, thanks for sharing. I love Chris Tomlin, but I don't think we have this CD. I've read Brennan Manning's Ragamuffin book, but not this one, and I've never heard of the third book. I'll look into these.

    Have a blessed week.

I'm still working on the award thing....stuff just keeps coming up and I can't just sit and do it!

  5. I agree- the title of that one alone catches my attention.
Have you ever read anything by Philip Yancey? Love him. And Beth Moore. Love her. And CS Lewis. Yep, you guess it-- love all of his books, too. I also like Dobson, Townsend and Cloud, and biographies. I guess maybe I should stray from my "regulars" a bit. ;-)
