Hard to believe!

One year ago ...
  • Today, in the afternoon, we arrived in Alabama. We set up camp at Noccalula Falls and took a deep breath and let out a sigh of relief. We praised the Lord for an uneventful and safe trip and tried to detox from the stress level that had been the last two weeks of trying to pack, move and clean our old house.

  • 2 days ago, we stayed in a campground in Georgia near the TN, GA, AL corner. We played in the playground and found doodle bugs that the kids enjoyed.

  • 3 days ago, on a Sunday morning, we pulled away from PA on our new adventure. We stayed the night at Dixie Caverns in VA and took a tour of the caverns. Neither of the kids really enjoyed it - the tour guide scared them at the beginning talking about bears ...

  • 4 days ago, we signed off on our house and bought our new "home on wheels". We had never even gone camping together!
So, that means we have been officially living in a camping trailer for 1 YEAR!!! Not sure if we should celebrate or cry :)

But, tomorrow, we are ready to pour again ... going higher on the existing concrete walls.

And, next week, we have visitors coming!!!

Definitely, many reasons besides these, to celebrate! I am very thankful that we even have a shelter to live in. Many in the world do not even have that.

Psalm 103:1-2 Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits

Yes, LORD, I choose Praise!

  1. Shirley, their is a blessing in that you have done this. For one year you have allowed yourselves to be in a different position that allows God to really show His ability to take care of your family. We like our "ducks" in row in America. We feel secure that way, but to step out into an area of challenge and having to put your faith in the Lord for His strength and His timing makes for real growth. You guys are doing great. I agree with you to Praise Him! He has been been there every step of your journey. Can you believe how strong you really are. The Lord knew you were and now you get to know that also!
Blessings to your and your family and again continued blessings on this journey.

  3. Shirley,

You are truly a strong person and I know where that strength comes from...the Lord and your stubborn determination. :) You are not a quitter by no means and have always been an adventurer. I thank you for your words to be thankful and to Praise the Lord. It's easy for me to want more or covet, but I really have all I need. God is a great provider.

    Have a blessed day!
