Update

Hannah:
Please continue to pray for a miracle for Hannah. The local community had a wonderful gift for Hannah last night - at least 54 fire departments, police departments, EMS, etc. joined together to deliver 1000's of Christmas cards to Hannah! The local community came out and supported Hannah and the family as well. Read here for more about it.

House:
The weather has not been the greatest for trying to pour concrete, but we are hoping to try either today or early next week.

Puppy:
He is still with us and we named him "Buddy". We reported him to all of the local vets and the local shelter, took him in to check for a chip, made a sign that we had found him, asked many people if they knew who he belonged to, etc, but he has not been claimed. He is doing very well at finding his way around our property, it seems. He is home every night to sleep in his warm bed :) He loves Hadden's bed, but we don't want him sleeping there so we keep booting him off. He is a persistent little fella.

Christmas:
Feeling a little behind. We are hoping to do our Christmas shopping for the kids tonight while they are at a "birthday party for Jesus" at church.

Many frustrations with trying to get a package delivered via UPS. I have had to force myself to be kind in the midst of it. I think there is a big lesson in here for me - in light of MUCH bigger situations, this one is nothing - and I mean NOTHING! So, my parents don't get their present on time. Do they really mind? No. So - why do I get all worked up for such small things?

Christmas cards are just not going to happen this year. Maybe New Year's cards :)

Merry Christmas!

  1. Nice to hear all of the updates. I am keeping Hannah in my prayers. I'm so happy that last night turned out so well. Looks like you've got another dog....cute....Also, I can relate to your frustrations with the "little" things, which we turn into big things, which really don't matter in the light of eternity. Why is it so hard though sometimes to be patient???? I hope the weather is good for you guys to do some work on your house. Have a blessed day!

  2. OOooo, you could start something with new year's cards! ;-)

I sometimes feel funny sending cards, I want to say, "Just read my blog if you want to know what is going on with us!" heehee (I'm sure that would go over well at MC)

I hope that you are able to get all you want and more accomplished tonight and that the kids have a great time! We did a birthday party for Jesus at Bible study Wed night. I teach the 1st/2nd grade class - well, Martha taught and brought in a yummy cake!

I can tell other things have been in my way this month as the kids' focus has been a tad off. Hopefully we'll be able to focus more this coming week. I hear you on the frustration of "little things" - Have a wonderful day/weekend!!!

  3. Re: the cards: I am about to go back to what I did as a "stay at home" mom which was send thanksgiving cards. ..I usually created them in Sept/Oct and sent them with a "we are grateful for the following things" letter which was less braggy as well. . .the new years letter could also reflect on things of gratitude. . .or answered prayers. . I do not send a letter as I agree, the people who I want to connect with I find ways of doing that throughout the year/my life (like this)!
