Soccer, stone, sheetrock and SO many colors!

In a word ... BUSY!

Soccer season is about to wind down for the year, but we have had a fun year. The rainy weather has made practicing and games challenging, but the kids have enjoyed this season.

John's brother, Jeff, came down this week from PA to put stone on the concrete part of our basement walls. It looks great! He will come back in a couple of weeks to finish the one side and the back.

Here he is just starting.

One side almost complete. The part that is not covered (black color) will be covered with dirt soon.

Or drywall - I wanted to stick with the 'S' theme :) The drywall is hung and mudded. They will wait for it to dry and then sand next week. Whoo hoo!!! I can't believe the time to paint is nearly here!!!

SO many colors:
Picking paint colors is just a little bit overwhelming. Sherwin Williams offers over 900 colors to choose from! Sometimes, I just need a few less options. I have some general colors in my mind - at least for the main floor. Later today, we are going to run and get some paint chips to work with - to coordinate and make sure the colors go together nicely.

Well, that about sums it up. We are getting closer and closer ...

  1. It looks like things are really coming along well, Shirley. You must be getting pretty excited.

When we go to paint, we get a small can of paint and paint samples on the wall, then look at them for about 24-48 hrs to see them in different light. Sometimes we pick right the first time, but once we had 4 different shades of yellow because they were all too bright. Then I had to remember which was which. lol

  2. The stone and brick combination looks great. They do a lot of that combination here in our area.

  3. Cute soccer pics! I can't believe the length of Savannah's hair. Those french braids are adorable.

Oh, the Brick looks awesome and I'm so excited about the paint colors. Whoo Hoo!!! (Wah-hoo...ha ha)

I can't wait to see more. Thanks for the post.

  4. WOW!!!!
    The house is looking GREAT!!
I can't wait to see the walls painted. (The colors will be awsome.)Have fun picking the colors.
Savannah and Hadden look like they're having fun. They are getting soooooo big.
It's nice to see Jeff. He does really good work.
    Take Care & God Bless,
    Lucy Guzzi (PA)
    P.S.Love ya'll!!!
